Blessed is the woman,
who between life and death,
labors in unbearable pain and anguish
to birth and to let live a little restless soul.
Blessed is the woman,
who night and day,
remains vigilant on a watchtower,
steadfast with passion, hope and love
for a child yet unborn and finally born.
Blessed is the woman,
who painstakingly nurtures a fountain of milk
to feed and spill upon a hungry growing child
to embrace nigh tide silence and daytime comfort.
Blessed is the woman whose divine womb
God fortifies with patience, power and strength
to produce and grow generations of children
to reach adolescence and multiply.
Blessed indeed is she whose tribe God forbids to rid away.
